I've been working on several decoupaged suitcases over the past few weeks. I put them in my Etsy shop today. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has every decoupaged a suitcase, but I've been wanting to make some for years.
Frequently, I'll find an old book at a garage sale or thrift store, and it will have a few pages damages or scribbled on. I love being able to salvage the good pages and do something fun with them. These took a while to get "just so", but they were satisfying to make.
I have a ton of retro children's books, and have always wanted to decoupage something with them. I'm also working on jewelry, a pair of shoes, and a purse. I thought the toaster would be fun, but I figured that was a bad idea. If you don't nail it down, I'll decoupage it.
These are from "The Little Red Caboose", and "Firetruck", both Little Golden Books. My favorite is the cuckoo clock being tossed down. The images are so familiar and comforting to me. Do certain illustrations make you feel 5 years old again?
It just looks noisy, doesn't it? I think this would be great in a little boy's room to use as storage, too.
